Using a point cloud as the basis for creating a map requires the introduction of new visualization methods.
In Neocart, the basic perspective is three-dimensional space, which includes all views for editing objects
and calculations on the map. The user is able to navigate in this space in a convenient way using the mouse.
Directly from the point cloud, it is possible to digitize objects by connecting selected points on the map.
There is also a function of filtering points thanks to which we can influence the visualization of the map.
Neocart is able to detect objects from the point cloud itself, e.g. planes, circles, arcs, lines, which
significantly speeds up the map creation process.
You can also automatically create TIN surfaces from a point cloud, survey data, or map objects.
The resources of the Head Office of Geodesy and Cartography include a cloud of points derived from
airborne laser scanning for the entire country
(numerical height data ).
Data from this resource can be imported directly into Neocart.
